Planning Checklist

• Determine why you want a web site and what you want it to do for you!
• Write the purpose for your website clearly, use it as you complete this checklist.
  
• Do you want to attract new customers?
• Are you planning to sell your product or services online?
• Do you want to provide information to clients/customers?
• Are you going educate others? If so about what?
• Each picture, page, and word you use should support your purpose

Its good to have a logo that is the same on each page.
It should contain:

• An image that represents you/your company
• Sometimes, the web address of your site
  

• Articles or other written pages
• What the first page will contain
• Eight word phrase that states your organization's purpose.
• Write a Paragraph or two that has details your 8-word phrase.

• Photos, with alternative text
  
• Text

!!!Text is extremely important!!!
Include as many "keywords" and phrases as possible in your content to help search engines determine your ranking.

If you want me to register a domain name for you:

• Make a list of domain names and prioritize them.
• Your first choice may not be available.
  Hint: your domain name should, in some way, reflect the nature of your business.
  You may use A-Z, a-z, 1-9, -, _.
  

• I host your website on my own web server.
• If you have already have a web host, I am willing to work with them.

You will need to pick a color scheme and a background:

• You may want to use Color Schemer, when done you will need to either print the page or copy/paste the list of color codes from the right side of the schemer, save them, and email them to me.
• It is usually a good idea to use a background color or texture. You may want to look at the Absolute Web Graphics site to help you find a texture or pattern. If you find a texture you think you might like then click on the image, scroll down on the resulting screen and see if you like the way it tiles "tiles."

You have two choices (serif or sans serif).

• Make a list of keywords. (These are words the search engines will use to determine your site ranking. The list will be placed in the invisible, code section of your site.)
• For help with keywords, go to the Keyword elector site and get more suggestions. You may use an unlimited number of keywords and key phrases. NOTE: ONLY the first twenty keywords, and the first twenty words of the key phrases will be recognized by the search engines.

I will provide a Price adjustment & Time Estimate when I receive the information listed above.

A $70.00 deposit will be required before beginning work on your site, as well as $10.00
if you choose me as your web host. The remainder will be due when you approve the completed work.

Upon complete payment, your site will be uploaded to the web!
